From Zhejiang Province, China, Celadon Pearl is a late Spring harvested green tea that is tightly rolled in the style of a traditional Gunpowder. The long roasting process gives this tea a simple and crisp flavor with a toasted nutty finish. Because of the more mature leaves, it is more robust than most Spring harvested greens. The result is a tea that is nutty and smoky with notes reminiscent of a premium Genmaicha.

Unlike the subtle floral notes and smooth mouth feel of earlier harvest green teas, Celadon Pearl makes a good everyday green tea. Ideal for making as iced tea as well.

  • Brewing Guide

Late harvest rolled green teas are somewhat difficult to brew. Water temperature needs to be high enough to open the rolls, but not so high to accentuate the astringency of a later harvest.

We recommend using water that's higher than what is usually recommended for early harvest greens, but brewing shorter infusions.
